Consumer: Learning to learn

Summary

We compiled the web ‘Learning to learn’ published by ‘Consumer Eroski’ to help users acquire useful learning tools and customs for their everyday life.

Objectives

To elaborate useful materials for the acquisition of skills and contents related with learning to learn.

Implementation of the experience

By request from the Eroski Foundation we elaborated educational material that was published on their  online consumer school , which can be consulted through the Internet.

Theoretical contents of this new space on the Internet cover the issue “Learning to learn” and try to help users to acquire tools and customs that will enable them to successfully approach the task of learning different skills and contents.  This space within the consumer school is aimed at citizens in general, and can be very useful from approximately the age of 12.

The web site tried to help, with the technological means available today, to overcome the obstacles that hinder or prevent the learning process, and it does it in a positive, simple and enjoyable way, structured around how one learns to perform nineteen tasks that, in turn, can be used to explain techniques to start and develop many other learnings. These tasks place the reader in different situations such as: what to do to improve their skills when speaking in public, facing an exam, presiding and managing a neighbour’s association, looking for information on the Internet, understanding what a medical prospect says or preparing for a job interview.

Conclusions

Based on three user profiles that would approach the task in different ways, we give practical examples to approach different situation in our everyday life. For this specific type of learning, techniques are provided.
